Making a Big Problem Much Smaller
Traditional home construction requires the rental of a large, roll-off waste container that can hold yards of scrap lumber, cardboard, drywall, tile and masonry. It costs money to have the container delivered and picked up, in addition to a rental fee while on-site. Unauthorized dumping into these roll-offs is a common and aggravating problem. Grind, LLC, has a better approach. By composting many of the waste materials through a grinder, you greatly reduce waste going to the landfill. Composted materials are left on-site where they can be blended into the environment with positive results.
Wood mulch can be used in landscaping or for erosion control at the street. Composted drywall is a great soil amendment that reduces lawn water needs by as much as 20 percent. Ground masonry and tile make ideal base course for driveways and sidewalks. All ground materials work well for dust prevention. Composting coupled with an effective waste management program has shown that there is no need for a roll-off waste container.
This takes care of about 80 percent of total work-site waste! Remaining refuse, like wrappers, cans and cardboard, will be collected for traditional off-site handling. Grind, LLC, will monitor the amount of waste during the construction process, and will grind when necessary.
Testimonial
GRIND offers a proven solution for waste management, with the experience to back it up. Each job site will present unique needs, with differing amounts of materials that can be composted, but GRIND can substantially reduce construction waste and improve the site. There is no substitute for real-world experience and success!
“Building a 2,500-square foot home with a 450-square foot garage in a remote mountainous location was difficult enough, but after three months of construction, we had a sizable pile of lumber scraps, drywall debris and other waste to contend with. GRIND not only recycled 70-80% of the waste on-site, but separated the non-recyclable waste for removal, too. We only had to haul about 500 pounds to the landfill, which cost no more than $8.00.
“By composting the largest share of construction waste on-site, GRIND has put my project on-track for Build Green New Mexico Gold certification and greatly reduced the amount of trash I needed to haul from the site! Good for the environment and good for the budget, GRIND can help you too.

The Bigger They Are, The More We Grind!
Whether it's reducing debris from a home remodeling project or clearing a football-field size pile of cleared vegetation, Grind can handle your job! Grind recently was contracted by the U.S. Government to assist with the expansion of Ft. Bliss Army post in El Paso, Texas. The Army is expanding the military post, and cleared a huge area of mesquite, creosote, cacti and other biomass to prepare for construction. Grind was hired to reduce over 57,000 square feet of mesquite and natural debris into several large, compostable piles, a big improvement over putting it into a landfill!
